Futuristic stealth and action strategy game

Syndicate 1993 is an isometric tactical game featuring a team of android secret agents. Players move through levels, taking out targets and stealing resources, building up their own equipment and territory to unlock better weapons and gadgets.

Futuristic strategy

In the dystopian future of 2096, corporations have taken over the world, using technology to enslave humanity. Syndicates of agents use these technologies to increase their influence and power over their rivals. As the player, you gain control of one of these syndicates and aim to take over the map and erase your opponents. Gameplay consists of forming a team of up to four individuals, equipping weapons and gadgets and then taking control of a level by defeating enemies. Each level can then be taxed for currency used for technology and advanced weapons. The gameplay of Syndicate 1993 is initially interesting but suffers from a lack of diversity and challenge in the later game.

Cyberpunk syndicates

Syndicate 1993 is an interesting strategy game with a unique and immersive world. With dated graphics and a lack of multiplayer options, however, the game is lacking in enough ways to slip through the cracks. While some fans of futuristic and cyberpunk games may enjoy their time among the syndicates, it is unlikely that the majority of others will.

PROS

  • Interesting concept
  • Solid strategy elements

CONS

  • Lack of additional features
  • Becomes repetitive in later game
